Brissett will start again
November 10, 2011
Though Jeff Driskel (ankle) is healthy, Florida will start fellow freshman QB Jacoby Brissett for a second straight week, the team’s website reported. Florida plays at No. 24 Auburn, the team’s third straight ranked opponent.
In a 41-11 loss at LSU last week, Brissett completed 8-of-14 passes for 94 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions.
This is Florida’s first game against Auburn since 2007. The Tigers have won three of the last four meetings.
Florida’s regular starter, John Brantley, remains out with a lower leg injury. It’s unclear when he’ll be able to return.
As long as he’s out, coach Will Muschamp says the team will constantly re-evaluate the QB position with Brissett and Driskel.
“We will manage that as we roll through this season and I couldn’t think of anybody’s better hands to be in than Charlie Weis,’’ Muschamp said, per the team’s website.
